Our Primary
Therapeutic Approaches

Empowerment
Approach

We believe in an “Empowerment Approach”! Although you may not realize it, you have many strengths and skills that we will build upon to assist you in reaching your goals. We want you to know that it’s okay, to not be okay. You deserve and owe it to yourself to re-claim control of your life and live to your fullest potential.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

The goal of ACT is not to eliminate difficult feelings, but to be present with them and accept them, which can create greater comfort with them to enable individuals to move beyond the barriers created by these feelings. Acceptance and commitment therapy raises awareness of unpleasant feelings and provides an opportunity to learn to manage the feelings and/or avoid situational triggers.

Cognitive Behavioral  Therapy

CBT is a type of model that combines cognitive therapy with behavior therapy by identifying faulty or distorted patterns of thinking, emotional responses, or behaviors responses. The goal is to substitute those negative patterns with more positive patterns of thinking, emotional responses, and behaviors.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

DBT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Dialectical behavioral therapy identifies and challenges negative thinking patterns, providing positive behavioral changes. DBT equips clients with coping skills to assist with changing unhealthy behaviors. You work to combine ‘acceptance and change' in your life.
