Meet Our Interns!

  • Liliana Adame, BSW

    MSW Intern

Hello! My name is Liliana Adame. In May 2023, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. During my undergraduate studies and internship, I discovered that I had a passion for mental health education and therapy, encouraging me to pursue my Master’s in Social Work at UTA.

Additionally, my Mexican-American roots have made me see the need there is for accessible mental health care and education in the Hispanic community. I have experience working with children and adolescents, women, and young adults. Whether you are struggling with low self-esteem, mental health concerns like anxiety, life’s stress or even looking to heal your inner child; I am excited to meet you and see how we can work together to meet your goals!

Note: Liliana is a Master of Social Work Intern and can see clients for a reduced rate of $30 per session. Liliana is under the direct clinical supervision of owner Brittany Woodley, LCSW-S.

  • Lindsay Jacobsen, BSW

    MSW Intern

Hello! My name is Lindsay, and I am currently attending UTA to complete my advanced year in the Master of Social Work program where my focus is on mental health. After graduation I plan on continuing on to clinical licensing for therapy in Texas. I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 2007, where I studied visual art education and psychology. I have always had a passion for learning about behavioral neuroscience, therapeutic approaches, and the history of human understanding of the mind. When I am not studying, you will find me with my two beautiful rescue dogs, baking, painting, or creating digital drawings.

I believe each person to be unique, and it is my goal to meet you where you are in your life. Through a collaborative, empathetic, non-judgmental relationship I aim to support and guide you through your therapeutic journey. Every individual has their own set of strengths and resources and together we will uncover and utilize them to achieve your goals. My approach includes the utilization of many evidence-based techniques while incorporating empathy, compassion, mindfulness, and humor. My areas of interest are grief counseling (including pets), anxiety, depression, social anxiety, behavior modification, and managing stress.

I am so happy to be here and continuing to learn and grow with you!

Note: Lindsay is a Master of Social Work Intern and can see clients for a reduced rate of $30 per session. Lindsay is under the direct clinical supervision of owner Brittany Woodley, LCSW-S.

  • Claire Johnson, BSW

    MSW Intern

Hello! My name is Claire Johnson. I am currently receiving my Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am completng my advanced field placement with The Empowering Space and am excited to connect with individuals seeking counseling under the direct supervision and guidance of such an experienced team!

I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) which is where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. I relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2019 and have been dedicated to my career in the social services field. My passion is providing services to adults living with severe mental health diagnoses. I have worked with this population for 7 years and have found my niche in allowing them the space to feel seen and heard. My goal post-graduation is to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) so that I can provide clinical based services to these individuals in a hospital/medical setting.

I have worked with individuals ranging from the adolescent to the geriatric population in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, residential treatment programs, long term care facilities, and in the community. I also have experience working with adolescents and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. I provide services with a person-centered approach, allowing the plan of care to be collaborative between myself and the individuals I serve.

Note: Claire is a Master of Social Work Intern and can see clients for a reduced rate of $30 per session. Claire is under the direct clinical supervision of owner Brittany Woodley, LCSW-S.
